*Yesterday I found out that it’s totally true. Alexander McQueen will design a diffusion line for Target based on his McQ line. This line will not be part of their GO International program, but a new one called Designer Collaborations. What’s the difference you ask? Well GO International brings young, emerging designers to the forefront, while Designer Collaborations brings more established designers to the mass market. WWD reports:
The collection will have rock ‘n’ roll influences and edgy details such as studs and tattoo-print fabrics. Designer Initiative is a separate program from Target’s Go International, which focuses on young or emerging designers. Target said additional Designer Collaborations will be announced in the future. Each collection will be available in stores for a limited time.
The line will be available in stores & online from March 1 through April 11, 2009. So exciting! I cannot wait!
*Also, in the news today, Vogue is eager to have Michelle Obama included in an upcoming issue.
A Vogue spokesperson stated, “Starting with Eleanor Roosevelt, it’s been a long-standing tradition to photograph the new first lady. So needless to say, we are very interested in working with Mrs. Obama. Precisely how is still being discussed.” Will they continue with the tradition? I guess we’ll have to wait & see!
